ATH Jake Dunniway, St. Mary’s Rams

The 6-foot-1, 190-pounder was one of The 209’s top passers, and he’s athletic enough to play other roles if the need were to arise. Primarily a pocket passer inmaxresdefault the Rams’ traditional offense, he led them to the Sac-Joaquin Section Division 1 semifinals.

Dunniway’s signature game came in the D1 quarterfinals against unbeaten and physical Napa, when Dunniway completed 18 of 26 passes for 350 yards and four TDs in the Rams’ 28-14 upset. He completed 65 percent of his passes for 2,584 yards and 26 TDs – throwing just four interceptions in 12 games.

In his final two playoff games, the junior completed 34 of 52 passes for 703 yards and six touchdowns, without an interception. He was the Tri-City Athletic’s Quarterback of the Year, as the Rams rolled to the title.
