Filed in Uncategorized by on December 12, 2015

OL Javier Canella, Central Catholic Raiders

The 6-foot-3, 245-pound was the top offensive lineman in the Valley Oak League, The 209’s top football league this season. He helped the Raiders to their fourth straight Sac-Joaquin Section title – this year it was Division 3, against schools that had up to four times Central Catholic’s enrollment.

Canella as a big part of the reason RB Justin Rice is enjoying his second consecutive 2,000-yard rushing season and the Raiders are averaging 46 points a game. Be sure to check out Canella’s blocking during the Raiders’ NorCal Small School Open Bowl tonight (Saturday, Dec. 12) – the Raiders are pursing their fourth straight state title.
