2015 Starbucks/Black Hat Football Team: Downey DB Tyran Daniels

DB TYRAN DANIELS, Downey High Knights

The 6-foot, 180-pound senior was the Outstanding Defensive Player and Outstanding Special Teams Player for the Modesto Metro Conference, and was22 a close second when it came to the conference’s overall MVP.

He was in on 96 tackles and had five interceptions, and was a playmaker who had offensive coordinators looking to the other side of the field. Daniels also saved his team’s season when he filled in on offense for the injured starting RB – Daniels had 1,050 yards offense and 17 TDs.

He averaged 9 yards a carry and 26 yards a catch, and 36 yards on kickoff returns and 22 yards on punt returns. He also returned two kickoffs for TDs as the Knights won their fourth straight MMC crown.
