Beyer High’s 6-foot-5, 240-pound Dylan Weltmer looking for a new stadium to call home in 2017

It was a busy and consistent senior season for Beyer High’s 6-foot-5, 240-pound Dylan Weltmer, the Modesto Metro Conference Defensive Lineman of the Year. He finished with 93 tackles in 10 games, though only five were behind the line of scrimmage.

His 3.95 GPA is an impressive statistic to throw on the portfolio, and he scored 1,380 on the 1,600-point SAT (yep, the SAT was at 1,600 … jumped to 2,400 for a few years … and has now dropped back to 1,600).

The defensive end made from 9 to 11 tackles in his six conference games, and averaged 9.3 tackles per games overall. The tape shows him extending his arms on some of his plays, making it a tough view for the quarterback and leading to some deflections.

Weltmer was a two-time all-conference pick on both sides of the line, and was Defensive Line MVP at last summer’s SoCal Elite Prospect Camp. He’s been getting good interest from UC Davis, D2 South Dakota School of Mines and Technology  and D3 schools Whitter, Occidental and Oregon’s Pacific.

His academics make him a potential Ivy Leaguer, but that’s an ultra-competitive level of play.
