Edison High, trailing by 16 points in the second quarter, rolled off 47 unanswered points to top Pacheco 59-35 in the Grower Direct Nut Game of the Week Friday night. Pacheco QB Aric Barton ran for two early TDs, and and twin brother Shane tossed a halfback option TD pass.

Edison rallied behind sophomore Davis Reya-Ruiz, who threw 3 TDs and ran for a fourth. He tossed TDs of 42 and 55 yards to junior Isaiah Evans – who was The Hat’s Prime Shine Car Wash MVP and received a free premier wash for his ride. Evans also ran for a 32-yard TD.

Edison’s Jordan Whatley blasted into the end zone on a short run and his defensive effort helped the Vikings’ first-team defense shut out Pacheco in the second half. The same defense had been torn apart by the Panthers’ rushing game the first two quarters.
